FAQs

We have fifteen round solid oak tables each accommodating up to ten guests although we recommend seating eight or nine to a table where possible to allow for more comfort. Each table is 190cm in diameter and 80cm tall. We have a further three rectangular solid oak tables suitable for seating three (or four by extending with a leaf) along each side to create a straight top table. Two smaller rectangular tables are available for gifts, displaying the cake or for a 'sweetheart' Top table for just the two of you.

Wheeled oak screens can be used to segregate different areas of the barn or to provide a balanced back drop.
We love to see the oak tables used in their natural beauty and we have oak place mats to compliment them and protect them from hot dishes. If you prefer to cover them we have white or cream table linen available and matching napkins. Two sets of china are available, either white china by Denby or Denby's Monsoon range which is cream with gold detailing.
We are excited by the quality of our catering and are happy to put our reputation to it. When your guests leave an event at Southwood Hall they are not to know who produced the food they were offered and this is why, after careful consideration, we are not prepared to risk our reputation in the hands of others.

In exceptional circumstances where it is a form of cuisine that we cannot deliver we may consider changing our stance but in these instances we would need full HACCP details and Environmental Health records from the proposed supplier before making a decision.
Southwood Hall, Southwood, Norwich, NR13 3LR

From the West

Follow the A47 from Norwich towards Great Yarmouth. Between Brundall and Acle the dual carriageway will briefly reduce to single carriageway and then re-open to dual. As it widens keep in the right hand lane and prepare to turn right across the oncoming dual carriageway, signposted B1140 Beighton Cantley. Take the first left turn onto Cox Hill Road and follow the road through the village of Beighton. As the houses cease take the left hand turn onto Southwood Road. Continue along Southwood Road until you reach a set of crossroads where you must give way. Proceed straight over the junction. Pass the family farm and the private residence at Southwood Hall before turning right into the car park at Coronation Barn.

From the East

Follow the A47 from Great Yarmouth towards Norwich. After 5 miles, just after you enter a 50mph area, turn left (opposite the restaurant) towards Halvergate. Follow this very bumpy road as it winds its way through the village of Halvergate but as you leave the village be sure to keep on this road when it bears right round a sharp bend onto Freethorpe Road rather than proceeding straight towards Reedham. On reaching Freethorpe at the T junction turn right onto Reedham Road before taking the first left onto Porters Road. At the crossroads turn left. Pass the family farm and the private residence at Southwood Hall before turning right into the car park at Coronation Barn.
Unfortunately the most local providers have failed to answer their telephones during some events and although their services prove better value it is best to secure them in advance or at least put them on standby that at some point during the evening their services may be required! We can provide full details of local suppliers so please contact us.
Each November we host the Southwood Showcase when we invite all those who have an event booked with us to an evening which sees local suppliers, carefully selected according to our very exacting standards, invited to showcase their services at the Barn.

Importantly, we have found that this gives our couples the opportunity to experience the atmosphere created when the barn is filled with guests; to sample the service and catering standards offered and to chat to Chef about their big day. It is also a chance for couples to have a chat with their coordinator about how they see elements around them coming together for their wedding day and to boogie to the sounds of the in-house DJ and band!

It is an occasion for us to show you what we do best, hosting fabulous events!
We are blessed in Norfolk to have some amazing homegrown talent that are ready to help and support you.

We have listed below the suppliers that we regularly enjoy working with. We don't take our recommendations lightly, they are based on our personal experience of working alongside them and seeing regularly the high standards that they work to. We are confident that these guys will work together as a fantastic team to support you in achieving your vision. Many of them will not be found at wedding shows as their diaries soon become full on the back of personal recommendations, you will however be able to meet them at our annual Southwood Showcase. Our team are always happy to provide honest advice and feedback so please don't hesitate to contact us regarding the services you are thinking of selecting.
