Victoria & Jake's pastel paradise
Posted on 27 May 2017
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day yesterday for the wedding of Victoria and Jake! A brief mid-day shower cleared the way for the sunshine to show its face and the Rotunda looked fab dressed with little gyp pomanders and pastel pom-poms in the prettiest of shades from KWF.
The classical sounds of UK Harpists filled the terrace as guests were asked to be upstanding for the arrival of the bridal party! First out the doors were the adorable flower girls and even more adorable page boy Harrison who walked arm in arm with the two girls – super sweet! Dressed in various pastel shades the bridesmaids were next down the aisle in cute little knee length dresses which looked amazing the bright summer sunshine!
It may have been a scorcher of a day but as Victoria came through the rear barn doors and made her way down the aisle it was seeing his new wife to be that had Jake all hot under the collar! A true vision in layers of lace and sparkle and a real-life princess – a far cry from the girl that didn’t wear heels!!
With the announcement of Mr & Mrs Gray guests made their way down the aisle to enjoy a summer tipple of either Pimms or Prosecco before sampling some specially chosen canapes from the kitchen!
We loved their favour ideas with their caricaturist setting to work through the drinks reception to sketch their wedding party as a little gift for their guests to take away with them – such a good idea!
Our couple had chosen the most delicious menu with our new starter of kilner potted gammon with rustic country bread, cornichons and red onion jam followed by 12 hour slow cooked beef cheek and a palette pleasing trio of lemon posset, Eton Mess and chocolate brownie – amazing!!
After two years of planning our super bubbly and organised couple had kept the barn simple to show its natural beauty with just some hessian bunting and their floral filled bird cages to do the talking! As guests took their seats they admired the amazing cake in the corner which kept to their birdcage scheme perfectly!!
With drinks flowing the food going down very well indeed it was soon time for the speeches with Vicky’s Dad kicking off proceedings with a very thoughtful and carefully planned speech complete with photo slideshow which showed his daughter and best friend through her early years. We also witnessed the first moment Vicky’s Dad John had met our Groom Jake at Vicky’s 18th birthday party – awesome photo John ??. Next up was our Groom Jake who talked about his love for his new wife and passed on their thanks to those closest. Finally, was Jake’s brother and best man Lewis who only hand kind words for his big brother!
The evening sunshine beckoned and guests headed out to the terrace to relax and play a game or two of wedding football as the evening guests arrived.
With the final formalities of the day complete, guests were soon enticed towards the Barbeque Lodge to enjoy freshly made pizzas with Chef’s salads and the ultimate sweetie fix of doughnuts, popcorn, candy floss, sweeties and s’mores – delicious!!
A night full of dancing, drinking and singing was had by all – the perfect end to the perfect day!
Huge congratulations to Mr and Mrs Gray! We wish you all the best for your future together and we have all enjoyed being able to be a part of your special day ?? xx
