Truley British wedding for Abbie & Andrew
Posted on 24 June 2017
What a beautiful English summer wedding for Midsummer’s day yesterday. Abbie and Andrew planned a lovely day with some very British classics.
We feared the day would start with some quintessentially British weather, but the clouds passed overhead to allow the bridal to walk down the aisle with grass underfoot.
Abbie was a true English rose in a beautiful backless dress with lace detail and just a peek of her blue shoes was visible under her skirts.
After exchanging vows with views of the cows on the meadow, it was time to toast the happy couple with a drink and the bride’s favourite cocktail, a Malibu Sunrise was on offer alongside bottled beers and soft drinks.
The garden and barn was decorated with good old English bunting and natural meadow flowers had been arranged by into teapots as centrepieces by KWF.
It was soon time to take afternoon tea which was accompanied by prosecco and favours of mini jam jars filled with sweeties before retiring to the terrace to enjoy tubs of ice cream and play games in the sunshine.
With the Southwood sweetie table at the ready, the newlyweds welcomed their evening guests to join the party and the lovely LuisHolden Photography was at hand to capture Mr and Mrs Hirst cutting their cake. The cake was finished with a brilliant topper featuring Abbie and Andrew with a giant cup of tea and was accompanied by a Lego bride and groom and a rubber duck bride and groom!
A very British offering of fish and chip cones was accompanied by the Southwood s’mores toasting bar in the evening to keep guests going as they boogied to the sounds of the House DJ into the night.
