The wait is worth it for Mr and Mrs Lacey

There were tears in the Cartshed Lodge yesterday morning – happy tears! As the beautiful bride, surrounded by her bridesmaids, took delivery of her stunning bouquets from florists KWF. There was a special surprise in store as maid of honour Claire had arranged for a beautiful little photograph charm to be attached to Amy’s bouquet so that her Granddad could be with her as she walked down the aisle to meet her betrothed.
Amy made her way over to the Garden Folly to get into her dress and take a moment of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the bridal party preparations. Once she was ready, her bridesmaids joined her for a gorgeous photograph lined up down the stunning cascading staircase. We can’t wait to see this and more from the fab James Powell Photography.
As it happened, Amy wasn’t short of company as she made her way down the aisle…following her numerous lovely bridesmaids were the flower girls and Amy herself was escorted by her dad and her three boys all of whom looked very dapper!
Soon it was time for everyone to make their way across to the barn for the ceremony under the garden rotunda. The weather was perfect, warm and cloudy (a photographer’s dream!).
The ceremony was short but sweet just as Amy and Chris had planned it and the smiles on their faces said it all! Now it was time for a drink to celebrate.
The inflatable assault course, a quick game of football and our chest of other garden games kept children and adults happy while they enjoyed their drinks before making their way inside for the speeches. Best Man Wesley had written a poem especially for the newly-weds which had everyone in stitches!
The barn was transformed (and smelt incredible) with large silver candelabra and tall hurricane vases decorating the tables. The combination of candle light and gorgeous white floral arrangements gave a real wow factor. On the place settings, guests were given favours of charity pin badges in aid of Cancer Research, a cause close to many hearts. Additional styling with chair sashes, giant lit letters and a striking floral frame on the seating plan were fabulous finishing touches - KWF didn’t disappoint!
A starter of either prawn salad or roasted tomato soup was followed by a main course of roast chicken, pork and sage stuffing, roast carrots and broccoli and finished off by a choice of either Eton mess or vanilla cheesecake with berries and as the Chef’s came out to congratulate the happy couple, they were pleased to see clean plates all around!
Following the meal, there was more football and racing on the inflatable before guests made their way back inside to watch the bride and groom cut their cake. This Vanilla Patesserie cake had a real difference with a surprise reveal. One side was decorated with superhero badges!!
The new Mr and Mrs made their way to the dancefloor to dance their first dance as a married couple before Amy danced with her dad. With tears mopped up it was time for their nearest and dearest to join in and get the party started.
Guests were treated to a hog roast alongside our potato station consisting of potatoes cooked in a number of ways (including Brogan’s favourite hash browns!) alongside grated cheese and a giant chalk board with a huge selection of sauces – what more could you want….
…well how about a huge selection of sweet treats to wash it down!! The Ultimate Sweet Fix saw guests able to indulge in a sweetie table, s’mores, doughnuts and take a visit to the candy floss and popcorn carts. Phew!!
Amy and Chris, I hope it has been worth the wait! It was such a special day. You have a beautiful family and we hope you will all continue to be happy together for the rest of your lives.
