The new Mr & Mrs Gent!!

Posted on 15 September 2018

Laughter and giggles could be heard across the grounds from the accommodation on Saturday morning as Tracey and her 10(!) bridesmaids got ready for the big day! Tracey’s mum had given her daughter a very special gift for her to wear on her wedding day – her veil that she had worn on her special day many moons ago which we thought was a lovely touch! As our Bride’s entourage gathered at the doors, we made our way over to the barn as guests gathered took their seats in front of the Rotunda!

The glorious sunshine was shining bright and as the wedding march began to play our bridal party began to make their way across the lawns. Tracey’s Dad had previously joked that he would be walking in a Zimmer frame by the time his daughter got married! Luckily no Zimmer frame was required as he walked proudly arm in arm with his daughter who wore a gorgeous lace covered dress and the all-important veil.

With the new Mr & Mrs Gent being announced down the aisle guests were greeted with a glass of fizz to enjoy on the lawns whilst our couple enjoyed catching up with their treasured friends and family. Everyone enjoyed chatting with the couple as well as playing a game or two on the lawns including our couple’s favourite ‘Hook a Duck’.

With a tasty three course meal awaiting them, guests were invited to take their seats before welcoming in the happy couple! Everyone enjoyed their homely starter and main before taking great delight in sampling some of Chef’s tasty treats on our dessert sharing boards which included quenelles of cheesecake cream, fresh fruit and chocolate and lemon tart slices to name a few!

We loved all the little personal touches through the barn including their little memory ladders but our favourite detail had to be the couple’s own version of everyone’s favourite school game of origami fortune tellers. Now everyone pick a number between 1 and 8…

As everyone enjoyed a warming hot drink, we popped open the prosecco and poured the toast ready for the speeches. Father of the Bride Mick was first up as he shared of his delight that Tracey had found the one! Our ‘shy and retiring’ (no Ian we didn’t buy it either!) was up next with a few thanks for the room and a special word or two about his new wife! Best man Jason was up next with a tale or two about his buddy Ian including a very special life-size banner for Tracey to cherish ?? Finally we welcomed Ian’s mum Margaret up who had written her very own poem especially for the happy couple!

With the final formalities of the day coming to a close, everyone headed outside to the terrace to enjoy the setting September sunshine. KWF’s awesome festoon lighting provided that extra warm glow to the terrace as everyone relaxed into our cushioned seating.

Our Chefs provided a barbeque and salads through the evening for everyone to enjoy and The Joe Ringer Band provided the music. Their first song of the evening was dedicated to Mr & Mrs Gent as they took to the floor for their first dance before encouraging everyone else to join them on the dance floor.

Despite only getting together three and a half years ago, Tracey and Ian are a match made in heaven as they bounce off each other’s jokes and always seem to have a smile on their faces. We wish you both all the best for your future together and congratulations again on your special day! x
