Sunny bank holiday wedding
Posted on 18 April 2019
The lovely Bethany and Robby had always dreamed of hosting their Duo ceremony in the Secret Garden surrounded by friends and family. As the sun beamed down over Coronation Barn yesterday morning, we knew from the get go that we would be hosting our first outside ceremony of 2019 ??
Lucinda filled the walled garden with beautiful melodies from her harp as guests found their way to their seats to soak up the sun ahead of the arrival of the bridal party. All of the girls had been busily preparing for the day ahead and it was finally time for them to make their way over from the Cartshed Lodge – our adorable Flowers Girls led the way (well, with a little guidance ??) followed by Jasmine, Zara, Pippa, Rebecca & Shelley before it was finally Bethany’s turn. In her stunning, twinkling gown and with her proud Dad by her side, it was finally time for Bethany to marry her soul mate ??
As our Bride and Groom made their way over into the barn for the legal signing of the Register, guests made their way through the grounds and onto the rear terrace to enjoy a tipple and some canapes in the sun. Once officially married, Bethany & Robby, were greeted by a showering of confetti and plenty of cheers too!
It’s quite clear to see, that our beautiful Bride absolutely LOVES Harry Potter so it was only right that it featured in their big day. Each guest was treated to a little honey pot favour (which Bethany’s Dad hand made from the bees in this garden) and we’re sure the guests noticed that the paper used to seal the pots was indeed from Harry Potter books! The children had their own ‘Hogwarts’ table complete with a Sorting Hat centrepiece and plenty of quizzes and activities to keep them occupied. Bethany had been super busy making her own cute table confetti – little hearts cut out from first editions of the Harry Potter books and even the cake was complete with a Harry Potter themed topper – just perfect!
As guests made their way into the barn (despite not wanting to leave the sunshine behind!) they found their way to their seats using our couple’s detailed seating plan whilst admiring the family photos on their homemade pallet ??
After Robby thanked everyone for coming and raised a toast to his new wife (!), a tasty two course dinner was soon devoured before guests took the opportunity to make their way back outside and enjoy the rest of the sunshine. The children played with toys & chilled out in Bethany’s little TiPi whilst the adults enjoyed a glass of something cold and watched the lambs play around on the meadow ??
Our Chef’s had been busy preparing a feast for the evening – chip cones with battered sausages, lager battered halloumi or cod fingers in Adnams batter alongside a tasty cheese table, hot fresh doughnuts & of course, a sweetie table to keep all of the little ones entertained!
Our newlyweds soon cut their stunning wedding cake, made by the wonderfully talented Maria Clouting, before taking to the dance floor for their first dance as man and wife. The band soon got into full swing and guests piled on the dance floor to party the night away!
We have had so much fun getting to know you both & it’s been an honour to host your special day. We know that you two have already been making memories together for a long time (with Jessica & Sophia) but as a wise woman once said, “the stories we love best, live in us forever” xx
