Spring wedding!

Posted on 31 March 2018

It may have been a drizzly start to the day, but nothing was going to dampen our fun-loving Bride’s mood as she prepared for the biggest day of her life! Laura and her gorgeous Bridesmaids and Mum enjoyed chilling out in the
Cartshed Lodge whilst being pampered Holly with stunning hair and make-up. With Prosecco in hand and the tunes blasting out – Laura just couldn’t wait to get married!

Laura and Karl have been so much fun to get to know – it was only right that their big day was filled with bright colours and quirky details to match their bubbly personalities! The barn had been decked out by KWF with an array of multicoloured chair sashes, pompoms and beautiful foliage garlands and fairy lights hung from the beams.

Our ever-helpful Usher, Toby, helped guests make their way to their seats in anticipation of the arrival of the bridal party. Laura’s beautiful bridesmaids and flower girls led the way down the aisle to a stunning acoustic version of ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls before it was finally time for Laura to make her way to meet Karl!

After an emotional ceremony, vows and rings had been exchanged and it was time to celebrate! The sun made an unexpected appearance as guests helped themselves to a drink from the terrace cooler and to Chef’s tasty canape.! It may have been a little chilly but the children enjoyed a kick about on the lawn as Luis Holden snapped away getting those all-important group shots.

Guests soon made their way into the barn to take their seats for dining and enjoyed a delicious meal. Our famous table carved proved a hit with guests as the carver from each table returned with their triple smoked gammon to be devoured!

With glasses charged, the highly anticipated speeches were kicked off by Laura’s Dad, Steve. He couldn’t be any more proud of Laura for everything that she’s achieved (including not one, but two degrees!) and is delighted to welcome Karl into the Metcalf family too. Best Man, Andy, enjoyed sharing some very funny stories from when him and Karl were growing up (having known him for nearly 30 years there were some cracking ones!). Karl rounded up the speeches by thanking everyone for coming to their big day and for all their help and support too. Of course, toasting to his new beautiful wife (!) too.

The evening guests began to arrive and joined our newlyweds in celebrating with a drink (or two!). The cake was cut and first dance took place before our house DJ kicked off a night of partying – filled with 80s and 90s classics!

It has been such a pleasure to host your special day Mr and Mrs Smith and we wish you both the happiest future together ?? xx
