Robyn & Seb's legendary wedding
Posted on 22 July 2017
We all had our fingers crossed for nice weather yesterday and luckily as Seb arrived with his Best Men, the clouds cleared and the sunshine made an appearance for the ceremony!
Robyn and her entourage of Bridesmaids, flower girls and page boys were busily preparing for the day ahead in the Cartshed Lodge with hairdressers, make-up artists and plenty of Prosecco at the ready! It was finally time for the big reveal of Robyn’s wedding dress and it was such a showstopper that nearly everyone was in tears!
The Rotunda had been beautifully decorated with gypsophila and pomander balls decorated the aisle on KWF’s shepherd’s hooks. As the music began our beautiful Bride and her girls made their way down the aisle. The girls had been practising their walk for days and it certainly paid off as they all elegantly made their way across the lawn to the Rotunda. We could see the massive grin on Seb’s face as he saw his Wife-to-be escorted down the aisle by her proud Dad and son, Oliver.
With the legal formalities complete and plenty of cheers for the new Mr and Mrs Ward, drinks were served on the lawn as guests were rounded up for photos and enjoyed a selection of tasty canapes.
Our inflatable assault course was back in action to entertain all of the children (and the big kids too!) as our newlyweds snuck off for some couple photos in the gardens.
With the help of our Best Men, guests were soon rounded up and headed into the barn. Seats were found with the help of the gorgeous table plan Seb and Robyn had created to match their scheme perfectly.
The barn was a vision of rustic charm – wooden plinths, jam jars and willow. Each centrepiece was decorated with polaroids of guests to add that personal touch to each design.
Mr and Mrs Ward were welcomed into the dining room before we gathered our chosen carvers for the day. All were very suspicious about what their ‘special job’ for the day was and soon laughed when they saw the Chef’s hats and aprons! A delicious beef rump was enjoyed with all the trimmings followed by our famous warm chocolate brownie with vanilla cream.
The toast drinks were poured and with guests back in their seats, it was time to kick off the speeches with Robyn’s Dad, Steve. He expressed how happy he was to have Seb as a son-in-law and told many funny stories about Robyn when she was growing up – including how she was often the victim of her brother’s scheming plans! Seb was up next and had many thankyous to make, especially how lucky is to have found Robyn. Our hilarious Best Men duo were up last and had everyone in fits of laughter with their witty one liners and ended the speeches with a toast to the new Mr and Mrs!
With the sun still beaming, guests made their way outside to the terrace to enjoy a drink (or two!) and the live music from Steve’s friends’ band – the perfect way to spend a summer’s evening!
Vanilla provided yet another amazing four tier wedding cake which our couple cut in front of their guests before Robyn and her Dad made their way to the dancefloor for their father/daughter dance followed by Robyn and Seb’s first dance as man and wife.
We always knew that Robyn and Seb know how to throw a legendary party and we certainly weren’t disappointed! The night was filled with good times – partying, sausage sizzle and did someone say Sambuca?! ??
It has been an absolute pleasure to host your special day and to meet all of your family and friends. We hope you have a wonderful honeymoon and wish you the happiest future together with your beautiful family, Mr and Mrs Ward xx
