Red coat wedding
Posted on 10 April 2019
It’s safe to say that Olivia and Kris are just one of those couples that you look at and can instantly tell that they are made for each other. That’s exactly what made hosting their big day extra special here at Southwood Hall.
Our bride’s preparations took place in the Cartshed Lodge with an abundance of support from her bridesmaids, mum and ridiculously cute flower girl, Cherry! Olivia’s stunning hair and makeup complimented her elegant, white dress perfectly that had the most amazing lace detail on the back.
Meanwhile, making their way from Southwood House Kris and his groomsmen entered the barn in style, donning some rather dapper burgundy suits. For our Groom, a Butlins performer himself, it made a slight change from his usual red coat!
As the barn filled with the sounds of “over and over again” the flower girl and bridesmaids lead the way before it was time for Olivia to make her way down the aisle, escorted by one very proud father. The bridal party walked the aisle holding stunning KWF bouquets in deep burgundy, soft pinks and green shades.
During what we can only describe as an elaborate ceremony the room heard from one very talented lady, Millie, who sung a rendition of “songbird” for the happy couple as they signed the register.
A deluxe terrace cooler was then uncovered for guests to help themselves to alongside a variety of canapes that were offered around as a few snaps were taken by their photographers – the perfect way to celebrate the new Mr & Mrs Moore! Kris’ best man and wife, Rosie, even performed an acoustic set on the back terrace and in the barn. One thing is for certain – Olivia and Kris had definitely made the most of having such a gifted bunch of friends ??.
Inside the barn the tables were decorated by the bride and groom featuring rustic log plinths, candles and jars of gypsophila. The top table was decorated with a striking KWF long and low arrangement that complimented the colour scheme beautifully. The cake table saw a delicious semi naked cake prepared by Maria Clouting decorated with even more KWF flowers ??.
Guests took their seats and the Bride and Groom were welcomed back into the room. It was a room full of music, cheer and laughter before it was time for Chef to serve up a delicious three course meal.
Next… it was time for the highly anticipated speeches. After an extravagant introduction from Nathan, the room heard words of thanks from the father of the bride, Kevin. Next up it was our Groom who, in no doubt, gave a funny yet touching speech. He then induced a few little tears in the room, ending his speech by making a promise to Olivia’s parents to always love and care for Olivia. Finally, as the projector came on it was time for best man, Andy, to conduct his speech. The room filled with roars of laughter as an embarrassed Chris (oh sorry, we mean Kris ??) slowly started to sink lower and lower into his chair. This being said, Andy ended his speech with a touching few words about how much our happy couple care for one another.
The party was kicked off by Bill Downs who provided the entertainment for the evening. A mixture of live performances and DJing was just what the room needed to get everybody up and dancing! The bride and groom cut the cake and then shared a fun first dance together before pizzas and doughnuts were served outside under KWF’s festoon lights.
It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know such a fun-loving bubbly couple and we are grateful to have had the chance to host Olivia and Kris’ big day! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Moore! ??
