Raise £4,000 for Macmillan? Easy peasy when you do it Southwood style!

Posted on 05 March 2016

We are very proud to report that our fantastic friends, suppliers and supporters helped us to SMASH our fundraising target last night for Macmillan :) We have raised a total of £5,455.60 which increases to £6,605.76 with all of the Gift Aid pledges made.

Eleanor introduced Helen and Bridget who set us the task of raising £4,000 for Macmillan and told us of their crazy idea of running the London Marathon. In turn they welcomed Clive as guest speaker who managed to put into perspective the varied support that the charity gives and that even pledges as small as 10p to cover the cost of a leaflet can make a big difference in the life of a sufferer or carer.

Our supportive Table Hosts did us proud again this year. We love seeing so many Southwooders back again enjoying another delicious dinner and a fabulous fun evening.

Huge thanks to the TestostaTones who put in two amazing performances. The usual calm and collected Southwood Team were infiltrated for a waiter crash - the first time the team has ever lost their cool during service we promise. The dinner set was perfect! Sorry for interupting your dancing set but well done for making an impromptu acapella "Sweet Chariot" rendition sound tuneful! Thanks also to the “choir” that pledged £100 for your help (and thank goodness they did)! The night was capped by dancing to our wonderful House DJ Tim.

A fantastic holiday raffle with prizes donated by Hoeseasons raised over £1,000. Our Showcase Suppliers all chipped in to help and we really appreciate their support!

Running an event is one thing but the team have upmost respect for Helen and Bridget – all they have left to do is run the London Marathon – good luck ladies!
