Our super competitive Bride & Groom smash the Jager record again!

Posted on 01 July 2017

The eagerly anticipated wedding of Victoria and Oliver had finally arrived much to the delight of their friends and family. After six years together and a few obstacles to face our super strong couple were met with a cheer or two as they became Mr & Mrs Barnes at Acle Church yesterday afternoon.

Our track cyclist and her golf pro husband-to-be have always known what they wanted from their day which is essential when planning from away! Vicky had planned every detail meticulously from her custom made stationary and favour jars to all the little extra signs and decoration for that Pinterest perfect wedding including a DIY polaroid frame and floral arch photo booth.

Guests started to arrive back from church and were welcomed with a glass of Pimms or Prosecco which was the perfect accompaniment to the amazing summer weather! They headed to the terrace to await the arrival of the happy couple whilst grazing on a selection of tasty treats from the kitchen including baby fondant potatoes with chorizo aioli and slow roast pork belly chunks – yum yum!

As our Bride and Groom arrived back from the church it was clear to see just how excited they were on their special day! Vicky looked simply stunning in her custom-made gown with delicate detailing and thanks to the stars that are Love Moi makeup and Gemma Holiday hair artistry her look was complete! As she sipped on a glass of prosecco she peeked in to see the barn which was exactly as she had imagined with soft pastel tones throughout including soft grey cloths from KWF.

The soothing harmonies of Bill Downs filled the grounds as guess mingled on the lawns whilst our happy couple were swept off for a photo or two in the grounds. Their personalised seating plan took pride of place on the terrace for guests to find their name before entering the barn. Best man ‘Chicky’ helped to round up the last few guests before announcing the new Bride and Groom into the room as they danced their way to their top table ??

Guests had pre-selected their main course from an impossible choice of wild sea bass with herb crushed Norfolk peer or butter-roasted supreme of chicken with wild mushroom and potato gratin – a tough choice with pretty much half choosing each option! A tempting trio of naughty miniature desserts were welcomed by all before we proceeded with the speeches. We heard all about Vicky’s accident and it was clear just how proud everyone was of her braveness and determination to succeed – a true inspiration! With just the best man’s speech to go, guests were treated with a jager-bomb toast which helped to kick start the evenings formalities perfectly!

Amongst the evening guests we spotted the gorgeous Lisa and Debs who got married with us almost three years ago – so lovely to see you both again for a catch up and to hear about the gorgeous new addition to your family!!

Freshly cooked pizzas, salads and doughnuts were all enjoyed throughout the evening with a dance off or two for good measure! Oli even took to the stage for a quick number singing his version of ‘All of me’ – awesome!!

After not one but two bar-long jager trains yesterday’s wedding party and our super competitive Bride and Groom smashed the jager-bomb record all over again!!

A morning brunch in Coronation Barn was the ultimate morning after get together (and hangover cure) for our couple and their families.

Congratulations Vicky and Oli on your special day, it has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of and we wish you all the best for your future together! xx
