Nicola and Geoff

Yesterday we hosted, which some, including the Bride herself, would call the very long-awaited wedding day of Nicola and Geoff and what an amazing day it was welcoming in guests from far and wide ??.
Waiting at the end of the aisle was Geoff and his best man, dressed very dapperly indeed! Meanwhile, the rain just held off for our gorgeous bride, bridesmaids and flower girls to make their way into the barn ready for the ceremony to begin! Flower girls led their way down the aisle before Nicola’s four sisters and eldest daughter, Izzy followed in stunning navy flowing dresses trailed by our bride arm in arm with one very proud dad. We heard from close friends and family during the ceremony, with gorgeous readings that captured everybody’s heart!
After the ceremony a selection of fizz, bottled beers or elderflower pressé was served before guests headed outside for some group shots as the rain held off! Inside Nicola had put her hand to some stunning crafty ideas to really personalise her whole day. Napkins were individually wrapped in handmade glittery sleeves and KWF’s silver candelabras were decorated with the Bride’s own artificial flower arrangements to compliment the bridal bouquets. Under the warm candlelight, it made the perfect setting for a winter wedding.
After the drinks reception, guests took their seats as a surprise for the Bride and Groom was orchestrated. As the Bride and Groom were welcomed into the room, all guests donned an eyepatch and welcomed our first mate and captain Spear before sitting down to enjoy a tasty three course meal of Panko crumbed brie wedges or tomato soup, table carved Broadland beef rump and finally a choice between Eton Mess and chocolate & salted caramel tart – delish!
The meal was rounded off by a warming cup of tea or coffee before a toast was poured for speeches! First, the room heard from the Father of the Bride, Ross who shared a funny but touching speech. Next up was the man of the hour, Geoff. Geoff shared a lovely speech and even handed round a few goodies as a token of appreciation to the people that had helped make the day a reality. Finally, the room heard from Benji, the best man who shared a funny speech that was rounded off by a rendition of the Haka to symbolise Geoff’s New Zealand background!
After a quick room change, we were joined by our evening guests who later gathered around to witness the Bride & Groom complete an old tradition and slice into their wedding cake. This was shortly followed by guests huddling around the dancefloor for the first dance to commence.
Chip cones with an offering of halloumi, battered sausage or fish was shared around alongside hot fresh rolled doughnuts that always go down well!
Music was provided by our in-house DJ who threw in some belters to get everybody up and on the dancefloor in celebration of the new Mr & Mrs ??.
Nicola and Geoff it has been an absolute pleasure to host your big day and meet your closest friends and family along the way. We wish you all the best for a long, happy future together. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Spear!
