Mr & Mrs Warnes
Posted on 07 July 2017
After Thursday’s stormy skies, we were delighted to welcome the new Mr and Mrs Warnes from the Church under blue, sunny skies.
Amy was a vision in a fitted lace gown and her blonde hair cascading in waves. Ben didn’t scrub up too badly either :p. The bridesmaids were lovely in floor length blush pink gowns and Amy had chosen beautiful flowers to compliment them.
Florist KWF provided centrepieces in tall vases alternated with candles in hurricane vases surrounded by rings of blooms and the effect was stunning. There were favours of Cancer Research pin badges and little wooden hearts engraved with the name and date of the newly married couple on the tables – lovely touches, we thought. The chairs were adorned with dusky pink sashes and fairy lights were strung throughout to add to the magic. The decoration didn’t stop there with fairy lights and jam jars of flowers dotted around the gardens for guests to enjoy while soaking up the sun.
Upon arrival, guests enjoyed a selection of canapes including smoked salmon blinis alongside their drinks of either Pimm’s, Budweiser or orange juice.
With photographs captured on the lawns, it was time for guests to consult the stylish table plan to find their seats for the wedding breakfast. Prawn salad was served to start before a very game group of guests joined Chef in the kitchen to collect a joint of roast beef to carve for their table. After a good giggle and a surprising display of skill (well, one of the carvers was a Chef after all!) it was time for a well-deserved drink ready to toast the speeches.
We were surprised to hear from the Bride’s sister that the three people the happy couple had chosen to give a speech were ‘the most awkward in the room’ as we think they all did a superb job, and from the sound of the applause it seems that the guests agreed.
Once tears had been mopped up and glasses had been drained, it was time for something sweet. To make the most of the glorious weather, sweet canapes were served on the terrace including miniature ice cream cones which were a real hit!
What could be better to burn off a lovely three course meal than a kick about on the lawn…well a kick about with a pint on standby of course!
The Bride and Groom cut their beautiful four tier iced cake but one cake was not enough for these two…they also had a cake with tiers of cheese for guests who were keener on savoury than sweet to enjoy.
With the smell of sausages cooking over Kadai fire bowls, it was soon time to take to the dance floor and the Bride and Groom kicked things off with their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s Tenerife Sea…and then it was time to party!
Amy and Ben have been such a lovely laid-back couple to plan with and we were so pleased that the weather allowed them to embrace their love of the outdoors. Enjoy being Mr and Mrs Warnes guys!
