Mr & Mrs Tubb's special day

Posted on 25 August 2015

As we eagerly awaited the new Mr and Mrs Tubb arriving from Church yesterday afternoon, there could not have been a prettier place to wait!

We are always slightly biased towards a purple wedding ;) but Kayleigh and Richard had definitely though through a beautifully decorative scheme. The dining tables had on them floral arrangements with fabulous vintage dusky roses in hessian covered jars, cute purple sweeties as favours for their guests and natural looking paper confetti. The hessian detailing was carried through to their seating plan and an awesome board of photographs of the two of them over their numerous years together.

As the newlyweds arrived in a flashy black BMW courtesy of Richard’s Uncle there were drinks and canapés on the lawn to celebrate.

Kayleigh was a vision of loveliness in her strapless lace gown with beautiful lace train and nude ribbon detailing and the Bridesmaids were just as lovely in strapless lavender dresses.

As guests made their way inside to take their seats they were treated to a slideshow of photographs of the Bride and Groom with their nearest and dearest which proved to be great entertainment as guests enjoyed their three course wedding breakfast finishing with either the infamous chocolate brownie or layered banoffee bowl.

With a glass of Prosecco in hand, Usher Callum made a fantastic job of introducing each speaker and Father of the Bride recalled some very precious memories of Kayleigh as a very inquisitive child. The Groom went on to say some special thank yous on behalf of himself and his new wife and also told the room how happy and calm he had been throughout the planning process and had had no nerves throughout the day, knowing that this was the most natural thing in the world for him to marry his best friend. (Cue the ‘aaahhhhhs’ and tears!).

From the Best Men (Richard’s brothers) we learnt that it was actually a miracle that Richard managed to make it to his own wedding – well, to be specific, it was a miracle that he made it clean shaven, dressed and with his shoelaces tied! We can only assume that good old Mum was there to help him out as he looked very handsome. The Best Men also issued Kayleigh with a very important tool – apparently there’s no knowing just what Richard is willing to do (or not do) for a packet of Wotsits!!

After the speeches it was time to head back out onto the lawns for Kayleigh to throw her bouquet for one lucky lady to catch.

While Mr and Mrs Tubb cut their wedding cake, guests admired some rather unusual adornments in the shape of a very cute little piggy Bride and Groom. With cake cut it was off to the dance floor for the first dance followed by a rather special and unusual second song - Warren G’s Regulate – the reasons for which I have been sworn to secrecy on but provided a great giggle for Kayleigh and Richard’s nearest and dearest who were in the know.

With flip flops on it was time to hit the dance floor and party in between trips to the pizza oven, sweetie table and to the bar to move ever closer to the victory that was beating the Jagerbomb record!

Kayleigh and Richard, we wish you every happiness and hope you enjoy both of your two Honeymoon trips! Love team Southwood x x
