Mr & Mrs Royse

Yesterday as well as welcoming a new addition to our Southwood family we also had the pleasure of hosting Lauren and David’s wedding which was every inch the sparkly affair that our couple had in mind!

With two years of planning behind them our couple were super excited when we welcomed them over on Friday evening to add their finishing touches to the barn before heading over to the Cartshed Lodge and Southwood House for an evening of rest and relaxation.

We were welcomed with a crisp yet bright winter morning yesterday just as our couple had hoped and as they got ready in their separate houses the barn came alive with the buzz of their guests arriving. The barn looked beautiful with KWF chair sashes lining the aisle in their colours of champagne and burgundy and our couple had even added little name tags and tissues for the ceremony seats! As guests were invited to take their seats for the ceremony the girls were busy putting on their finishing touches – fur stoles for the girls and a special necklace for Lauren from her parents! Bubbling with excitement, our Bride was ready to become Mrs Royse as we walked across the gravel to the barn!

Canon in D played through the barn as the girls made their way to their seats. Arm in arm with her Dad, Lauren’s smile was infectious and had everyone gleaming from ear to ear as they came down the aisle to stand beside David. As a little surprise for her Dad Lauren had selected one of his favourite songs whilst they signed the register – such a lovely thought ??

Fizz and nibbles awaited our guests on the rear terrace with blankets from our couple to keep their guests toasty whilst they posed for a photo or two! Delicious brie wedges and tempura king prawns were a yummy treat for all to enjoy before heading into the beautifully decorated barn. Lauren and her entourage certainly succeeded in adding their personal touch! Hand decorated pine cones, place cards and menus for each guest looked wonderful alongside their floral centrepiece and glitzy table runners from KWF.

As guests took their seats for dining it was time for best man Burton to welcome in the new Mr & Mrs Royse! In true Lauren and David style they danced their way through the room to ‘Get low’ much to the delight of their friends and family!

A sumptuous three course meal awaited guests with either double baked soufflé or Cromer crab cakes to start followed by the ever-popular table carved roast pork with terrines of seasonal vegetables! Crème brulee or lemon meringue, amaretti and raspberry glass were the desserts of choice – we are not sure we could pick between them!
The speeches from Ian, David and Burton had everyone reaching for the tissues – mainly because of the laugh a minute stories from our best man! Well done boys ??

The drinks were soon flowing as we welcomed the evening guests and the room was moved around to make room for the dancefloor! Before the party really kicked off, Mr & Mrs Royse invited their guests to gather around as they cut their showstopper of a cake! The four-tier beauty was from Vanilla Cake Design who yet again had created the most beautiful of cakes for our couple! After their first dance as man and wife and a little boogie with her Dad the dance floor soon filled for a night of dancing and singing! Our Kadai sausage sizzle went down well throughout the evening as everyone kicked off their shoes and let their hair down for an evening of partying!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Royse on your wedding day! We had the best time hosting your wedding and we wish you all the best for your future together xx
