Mr & Mrs Porter
Posted on 20 May 2017
We were all franticly checking the weather forecast in the lead up to yesterday’s wedding and our hopes of an outside ceremony came true as Chelsea and Rob tied the knot under the Garden Rotunda.
The outside ceremony area was beautifully decorated with foliage garlands and a hessian back drop as well as petite jam jars of gypsophila displayed on shepherd’s hooks to line the aisle, all courtesy of KWF.
Chelsea’s Mum led the way down the aisle with the adorable flower girls and page boys ahead of our beautiful Bridesmaids in flattering coral floor length gowns. With tears just about held back, it was finally time for Stan to walk his little girl down the aisle to become Mrs Porter!
As the legal formalities were completed, our newlyweds were quickly whisked away for a few photos as guests enjoyed a drink from the terrace cooler and a yummy selection of canapes. With the sun still shining, the children played with the garden games and the lads had a kick about too!
The barn was a vision of rustic charm yesterday - hessian circles adorned with jam jars decorated with copper to match Rob’s handmade table numbers, cute coral coloured favours and hard carved wooden place cards. KWF decorated the lower beams with strings of fairy lights and the giant LOVE lit letters created the perfect back drop for dining.
Our ever-helpful Groomsmen, Henry, kindly asked guests to head inside to take their seats as glasses were charged ahead of the highly anticipated speeches. Mr and Mrs Porter were welcomed into the dining room to ‘Still into you’ by Paramore – the perfect choice for our music loving couple. ??
Stan shared a short but sweet speech with guests before handing over to Rob who had a few thank you’s to make, including the biggest thank you ever to his new wife (cue the whoops and cheers!) for always being there for him and planning their perfect day over the past couple of years (well, the last thirteen years, three months and a few days to be more precise ??). An impromptu speech from Jason was followed by a fun and loving speech from Henry – who travelled all the way from Australia to be here for the day!
With bellies beginning to rumble and the smell of the barbecue filing the barn, guests soon helped themselves to their choice of barbecued meats and Chef’s selection of salads before returning to their tables to indulge. Delicious warm chocolate brownie with vanilla cream followed along with tasty ice cream sundaes for the children, which all went down a treat!
Guests spilled out onto the lawn to enjoy the last of the evening sunshine as the band for the evening set up in the barn and our house DJ played some classic party tunes.
The night was filled with plenty of fresh pizzas, drinking (did anyone say shots ??) and plenty of partying on the dancefloor!
It has been a pleasure to host your special day Chelsea and Rob, and to get to know you and your families so well in the process ??. We wish you the happiest future together and hope you have the most amazing time in Jamaica next week! xx
