Mr & Mrs James' day filled with happiness and love

Posted on 21 August 2018

The day had come to welcome Tracey and Danny to Southwood Hall for their wedding day. After their long engagement it was a highly anticipated day that close family and friends were keen to share with our lovely couple. The weather was perfect – a sunny day with a gentle breeze that set the scene perfectly.

Our laid-back couple chose to walk down the aisle together as a family, meaning Tracey, Danny, Mia, Freddy and our Groom’s close and personal friend Stan – the dog, of course! Once down the aisle the beautiful ceremony went underway underneath the Garden Rotunda. Tracey and Danny’s children Mia and Freddy gave Mummy and Daddy away, declaring that they will promise to love each other for ever and ever! They gave each other an adorable quick high five before our Bride and Groom took centre stage. With huge smiles throughout it was clear how much of an important part these two play in all of their guests lives ??.

Following the ceremony, our newlyweds were greeted at the end of the aisle with a glass of Prosecco or a refreshing orange juice. During their drinks reception, a selection of five canapes were offered around that were picked out especially by our lovely couple. Guests relaxed and took some snaps before taking their seats ready for dining and to welcome the new Mr & Mrs James into the room!

The barn was beautifully decorated by the talented ladies at KWF to give the dining room a simple, elegant feel. The table centres looked amazing displayed in tall trumpet vases that complimented the barn and style of the day perfectly!

Guests enjoyed a three course meal freshly prepared by our Chefs. It’s safe to say that the food went down a treat as there were smiles and full stomachs all round! The wedding breakfast was finished off with a cup of tea or coffee before a chilled glass of Prosecco was served to all guests ready to toast the speeches.

The room heard words from the Groom, Mother of the Bride and two Best Men, Tom and Reedy. There was plenty of laughter and kind words and one thing that we believe all the guests will take home with them is a quote shared by the Mother of the Bride “It’s not what we have in life, but who we have in our life that matters”. A perfect way to end the wedding breakfast formalities.

The Bride and Groom then snuck off to cut their wedding cakes – giant ‘Colin & Connie’ the caterpillar cakes. Tracey and her sisters had been so excited about them and they certainly looked EPIC! ??

Evening guests then arrived in time to watch Tracey and Danny’s first dance; friends and family watched on with nothing but beaming smiles. Guests were ready to party the night away to sounds provided by our in-house DJ! The pizza oven was roaring outside, individual pizzas were served alongside chips and a selection of sweeties that made for the perfect evening catering.

All that is left to say is the biggest congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs James!! We wish you all the luck and happiness with your future with Mia and Freddy (and Stan!), it has been an absolute pleasure to host your big day and to meet all of your lovely friends and family ??.
