Mr & Mr Talbot!

Posted on 23 March 2018

We couldn’t believe our luck when we saw the spring sunshine beaming down over the barn yesterday morning – an amazing difference from the weather we had a few weeks ago!

Guests travelled from far and wide to join Nathan and Kyle on their special day and the buzz of excitement could be heard in the barn as guests chatted and giggled away as they made their way to their seats for the ceremony.

Although Nathan and Kyle’s dog, Willow, couldn’t be with them on their special day, her name certainly inspired the styling with an abundance of foliage and greenery decorating the ceremony table along with KWF’s ‘willow’ and hessian chair sashes.

We always knew that it was going to be an emotional ceremony – our Grooms’ even made bets about who would cry first! Ellen and Mike shared beautiful readings, which meant so much to our lovely couple and after months of planning, the new Mr & Mr Talbot were finally announced!

Our guests made the most of the gorgeous spring weather and headed out onto the terrace to enjoy a drink and a delicious selection of Chef’s canapes. Kyle’s family travelled all the way from Chicago to join our newlyweds and they certainly made the most of their time here – Pimms in hand, catching up with friends and family.

The guest tables were beautifully decorated with KWF’s stylish lily vases filled with a spray of mixed foliage. Each guest was treated to a favour bag complete with a homemade gin miniature (proudly made by Nathan’s Dad), a poem and either American candies for the British guests or English chocolates for the American guests (such a fab idea!).

Kyle made some beautiful candles topped with an engraved wooden slice with a cute place card attached, which helped everyone find their way to their seat. Each table was named after a place in the world our couple love – like where they first met, their first international holiday and Nathan’s second home!

A tasty three course meal went down a treat and it was soon time for the much-anticipated speeches (with tissues at the ready!!). Both Dads shared their kind words about their sons and then Nathan took the time to thank everyone for coming and got rather emotional when talking about his new husband (cue the cheers! ??).

With the Prosecco flowing, a night of partying was kicked off by our house DJ - Bradley had been waiting all day for the music to start and couldn’t wait to take the lead on the dance floor!

Kyle had been eyeing up the gorgeous semi-naked salted caramel cake all day (and even wondered if it was possible to sneak a slice before the ceremony without anyone noticing ??) so was thrilled when it was finally time to cut it and enjoy a slice before taking to the dance floor for their first dance. They’d chosen a Dusty Springfield classic and Kyle joked that he’d picked the song before he’d even picked Nathan ??.

We have had such a blast getting to know you both and hope you enjoy your relaxing weekend away. We know that you’ve already created loads of amazing memories together all over the world but know you’re soon to make many more! Congratulations ?? xx
