Modern Christmas wedding for Becky & Jack
Posted on 22 December 2018
Becky and Jack sure brought the Christmas spirit to Southwood Hall for their wedding inside Coronation Barn yesterday afternoon. The hall was decked with fairy lights and holly and it certainly is the season to be jolly :) (cue the singing!)
With the sun shining down Becky and her girls made their way over from the Cartshed complete with fluffy boleros – the girls looked beautiful in their emerald green dresses and Becky beamed from ear to ear as she held her Dad’s hand ready to make her entrance in her sparkly gown. Jack and Becky made their vows in front of all their friends and family before being cheered down the aisle as the new Mr and Mrs Davies!
A warming glass of mulled wine or a bottle of Budweiser were on offer to guests as they followed the happy couple round to the terrace where they were treated to some live music from a brass quintet! Canapes were circulated around as everyone enjoyed listening to the music whilst the bridal party posed for photos on the lawns.
Our gorgeous couple had plenty of creativity when decorating the barn – alongside our giant Christmas decorations they added their own wooden centrepieces which featured a different Christmas ornament on each table and cute little engraved place cards were the perfect favour for guests to take home with them. KWF also added plenty of sparkle with fairy lights and festoons throughout the barn and along the terrace outside. Our favourite touch was our couple’s Christmas tree which was stood ready for each guest to adorn with their own decoration and loving message for the Bride and Groom upon their arrival – such a lovely idea!
It wouldn’t be a festive wedding without a turkey roast dinner complete with cranberry and bread sauce, roasted vegetables and of course pigs in blankets! With the tunes playing and the candles and fairy lights twinkling guests tucked into their main course before enjoying a trio of speeches from our Groom, Becky’s Dad Stewart and best man Shane. With the final toast being made the dessert was served with guests making the tough choice between sticky toffee pudding or orange pannacotta with dark chocolate ice cream, biscotti and caramelised oranges!
With the final formalities nearing we moved the tables around ready for the evenings entertainment which included casino tables and some props perfect for a festive photo or two in front of their flower backdrop.
Our Chefs also had one final treat up their sleeves but not before we invited the Bride and Groom to cut their cake (lovingly made by the Bride herself) and take to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife! Our house DJ encouraged everyone to join in and soon everyone was rocking around the Christmas tree :)
With the pizza oven roaring and the dance floor rocking everyone enjoyed a night of celebrations for Jack and his Becky!
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Davies on your special day, we wish you both all the best for your future together as well as the most wonderful first Christmas as man and wife! xx
