Lindsay and Robert's big day
Posted on 27 October 2018
It was a pleasure and a privilege to host Lindsay and Robert’s wedding ceremony here at Southwood Hall yesterday.
With plenty of careful planning our couple had brought the barn to life in collaboration with KWF. The ceremony area was beautifully decorated with hessian and lace chair sashes which along with the bunting and fairy lights created a really warm and cosy feel to the barn. The addition of candlelight and a floral garland made the perfect setting for Lindsay and Robert to say I do.
With a slight chill in the air our girls were understandably keen to get started and as the music started it was Lindsay that led the way arm in arm with her Dad and her two gorgeous bridesmaids closely following behind. Lindsay looked every inch the blushing Bride in a beautiful embroidered bodice and full skirt which perfectly caught the light and she made her way down the aisle.
As Mr & Mrs Jamieson were announced back down the aisle everyone clapped and cheered before following them out of the barn for a drink or two on the terrace. Our patio heaters and canape snack ladders were a welcome treat as our couple headed off for some photos in the garden.
Inside the barn, just like the ceremony area, the room had been beautifully decorated by KWF and our talented bridal party. Tables were dressed with alternating candelabras and coach lanterns and we loved the little homemade chocolate favours – lips for ladies and moustaches for the men!
Following the speeches, it was time for the wedding breakfast which included an autumnal menu of Kilner potted gammon followed by Broadland beef braised in Woodforde’s with creamed potatoes and cheddar croute and a finale of chocolate yumminess!
We know that Gino, Gordon and Fred’s Road Trip is very popular at the moment but today we, and the guests, were treated to our own Italian, English and French men - ‘The 3 Waiters’! The singing trio (well disguised as our waiting staff through the day) caught guests off guard during their meal and treated them to some singing and comedy acts! It had everyone joining in and rapturous applause filled the barn!
Our Bride is a lady with many talents – not only did she make the cute favours but she also made the wedding cake too which was beautifully decorated with buttercream icing and flowers. With the final evening guests arriving it was soon time for the final formalities of cutting the cake.
Our couple then, along with their guests, headed to the dance floor for the band’s first set whilst our Chef’s carved the hog ready for everyone to enjoy a tasty hog roast roll with crackling, herb stuffing and homemade apple sauce! It was also lovely to catch up with Maria and Duncan who got married with us back in 2011!!
Congratulations Lindsay and Robert on your special day – we all loved being a part of your wedding and wish you both all the best for your future together xx
