Let the Bride see the Groom!
Posted on 23 February 2018
Melissa Abel make up and Laura Hughes hair joined us bright and early in the Cartshed Lodge yesterday on a crisp, bright February morning. Bride-to-be Azara had her girls around her as she prepared herself for the big day ahead.
The more that we have gotten to know Azara while planning for the day, the more that we have learned that she is not a lady for understatement and wow…her wedding day was no different. Azara was stunning in a beaded, cold shoulder, sleeved dress with a full skirt and cathedral veil with lace detailing.
Liam was very handsome in his blue suit and had finished his outfit with a nod to his love of super heroes by having a piece of comic book included in his buttonhole.
Another of Liam’s great loves was acknowledged during the ceremony as the father of the groom gave a reading with the message of concentrating on the important things in life illustrated with golf balls!
The ceremony was an emotional family affair with Azara’s dad very proudly giving her away, her two younger brothers also giving a reading and both Azara and Liam’s mums witnessing the ceremony.
The new Mr and Mrs Digan celebrated becoming husband and wife by sharing a glass of fizz with their guests. On offer alongside the prosecco was a Taste of the States! Canape stands were filled with American themed bites such as mini burgers, mac and cheese bites and mini pizzas.
With photographs taken and confetti thrown it was time for guests to take their seats which were marked with a photograph of themselves (and there were certainly some interesting ones!). Guests were given favours of mini bags filled with lavender which filled the room with a gorgeous scent and candelabra table centrepieces completed the look.
The new Mr and Mrs Digan were welcomed into the room with applause and cheers from their nearest and dearest before enjoying a three-course wedding breakfast. Slow poached salmon scotch egg with dill mayonnaise or mushroom and tarragon risotto balls was followed by a main course of Broadland beef braised in Woodforde’s ale which went down a treat on a chilly February day.
With a glass of fizz in hand it was soon time for the speeches with father of the bride first to take to the microphone to thank guests for travelling from far and wide across the globe to be with Azara and Liam on their special day. After Liam had said his thank yous it was time for the best man to present ‘Take Liam Out’ a personalised version of the ‘Take Me Out’ gameshow that saw Azara ‘no lighty, no likey’ her groom as a result of the series of anecdotes given alongside photographs presented on the big screen!
Following the speeches, more of our bride and groom’s friends joined them and were treated to cake and sweeties from the sparkly table on arrival.
A classic first dance saw the dance floor crowded by the end of the song with lots of Azara and Liam’s nearest and dearest joining them in getting the party started.
The smell of fish and chips was soon carried across the dance floor as people enjoyed cones of chips with battered fish, halloumi or sausages with plenty of salt and vinegar. Fresh hot doughnuts were also a huge hit as the party continued into the night.
It’s been so much fun to get to know you guys and we wish you all the best for the future especially with your first adventure together in Singapore!
Just one last one?!...Let the Happily see the Ever After! ??
