Laura and Kathryn's homemade vintage extravaganza

Posted on 25 August 2015

Fun, laughter and love were all present in bucket loads for the wedding of Laura and Kathryn under the Garden Rotunda. Laura’s vintage ensemble and Kathryn’s custom made tweed suit not only fitted the girls like a glove but they also perfectly complemented their theme inside!

It was a homemade vintage extravaganza inside the barn with everything from the books on the table to the table plan in the corner being made by friends and family! They must have super talented friends because it looked amazing :). We particularly loved the centrepieces with the vintage books and jars of flowers which the girls had spent hours pruning and arranging the night before.

After sipping on glasses of prosecco and posing for a few photos with ‘Postman Dan’ it was soon time for guests to take their seats ready for the wedding breakfast. Our lovely couple had gone for the popular table carved roast beef for their guests who all loved the theatrics of seeing their friends and families dressed up to carve!

Ahead of their refreshing ice cream dessert we heard from the ladies’ fathers who everyone could see were extremely proud of their daughters. We then heard from best woman Mandy and Kathryn and Laura themselves. A few tears may have been shed but this was covered up with tonnes of laughter and cheers!

With the day’s formalities drawing to a close, guests continued to make the most of the warm evening out on the terrace with the sounds of the acoustic guitarist and drinks in hand. We also heard rumours of some racing competitions on the massive Southwood Hall inflatable assault course! It got more serious later on in the evening with some guests making a swift outfit change into some sports gear….we wonder who came out winner…

Music was a big thing for our couple and they triumphed with their music and band choices – it might have been their first time at Southwood Hall but Felix’s acoustic set and Renegade Twelve’s rocking sets were a huge hit amongst the guests.

With the arrival of some extra evening guests all that was left to do was cut their cake, kindly made by their friend Hannah, and take to the dance floor as Mrs and Mrs Osborne!

Laura and Kathryn had always loved the idea of our twilight Ploughman’s table and picked to also include an amazing cheese tower alongside the huge spread of cold meats and snacks. With music, food and funny photos in the photo booth it was sure to continue to be a brilliant night!

It has been a pleasure the whole way through – always laughing and smiling – their love is infectious! We wish you all the best for the future and congratulations again Mrs and Mrs Osborne!! xx
