Gradutation and a wedding!

After going to her University Graduation, receiving a special recognition award and getting ready for her wedding (all in the space of one morning!) Sarah arrived at Southwood in absolute style looking beautiful in her detailed wedding gown – the grin on her face told us that she just couldn’t wait to marry her soulmate.

The ceremony area had been beautifully decorated by the talented KWF with their stunning white box plinths and floral arrangements lining the aisle, a gorgeous long and low on the ceremony table and the Rotunda was adorned with beautiful organza drapes with floral tie backs.

With all of the guests seated out by the Rotunda on a surprisingly warm afternoon, Neil nervously awaited the arrival of the bridal party. As the music filled the air, Sarah’s three Bridesmaids led the way down the aisle in their floor length dresses before it was time for our beautiful bride herself. With a quick fluff of her dress and a “oh my god, it feels real now”, Sarah made her way over to Neil with her very proud Dad on her arm.

After an emotional ceremony, guests enjoyed a glass of Chambord Prosecco or elderflower presse whilst enjoying the sunshine. Lightening photography rounded everyone up for some group shots before sneaking off into the grounds for some romantic photos of our newlyweds.

Inside the barn, tables were decorated with stunning floral centrepieces, cute jam jars of sweeties as favours and hand made place cards. Each table displayed a photo of our newlyweds and a ‘Did you know’ card with an interesting fact about the new Mr & Mrs Carroll – we absolutely loved them ??. Our thoughtful couple had set up a lovely memory table in honour of those unable to be with us and Maria Clouting’s stunning three tier masterpiece stood proudly on the cake table.

Guests were soon ushered into the barn ready for the wedding breakfast. A tasty three course menu was soon served – a choice of trio of melons or Cromer crab cakes with Coleman’s mustard aioli to start, Confit duck leg or seared cod for main. Two of our favourite dishes were on the menu for dessert – our shortbread, vanilla cheesecake cream, wild strawberry ice cream and poached strawberries or butterscotch mousse with candied popcorn, honeycomb and chocolate shavings – delicious!! The children were certainly happy with their ice cream sundaes too!!

As guests enjoyed a coffee, toast drinks were poured and the guys prepared for the speeches. Sarah’s Dad had even made his own version of “The 10 commandments” which were shown on the big screen along with a beautiful video montage of Sarah over the years. Neil shared his kind words and plenty of thank-yous with everyone after an encouraging “don’t worry, you’ll be fine Dad!” from his son, Ethan. Adrian and Marcus rounded off the speeches with toasts to the newlyweds too!

Guests made their way out on to the terrace whilst our musicians set up on the stage and the evening guests began to arrive. It wasn’t long before Chef’s barbecue was open with three tasty meat choices alongside a selection of salads for guests to devour. Our “Donut mind if I Do” board proved a very popular hit too!

After our Bride and Groom had cut their cake it was time for them to take to the dancefloor for their first dance as man and wife. Sarah also had a dance with her Father to a beautifully remixed track they had provided for our house DJ ??

We have loved hosting your wedding day and it’s been a privilege to get to know you both so well. We wish you both the happiest future together as the new Mr & Mrs Carroll, with Ethan and Ava too of course xxx
