Glorious sunshine for Mr and Mrs Millar!

All of the finger crossing ahead of yesterday’s wedding certainly paid off as we were in for a day of glorious sunshine as Emma and Simon became the new Mr and Mrs Millar.
Guests arrived to Southwood from South Walsham Church and were greeted with a glass of Pimms, Prosecco or raspberry lemonade as they made their way round to the rear terrace to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Our beautiful newlyweds arrived in style and mingled with their guests whilst our photographer for the day snapped away and everyone munched away on a tasty selection of Chef’s canapes.
Inside the barn, the tables were decorated with rustic wooden plinths with cute lanterns and floral jam jars. The place cards were of course coral and navy to match the colour scheme and napkins were adorned with loving ‘thank you’ notes from our lovely couple. Auntie Jilly made an extravagant semi-naked cake which we saw guests eyeing up throughout the day and later enjoyed a slice!
We were soon ushered into the barn for dining with our classic table carved roast loin of pork and all the trimmings followed by a delicious trio of chocolate brownie, Eton Mess and vanilla cheesecake.
Prosecco was poured and guests were hushed as Father of the Bride, Pete, took to the microphone and kicked off the speeches with a few kind words about his wonderful daughter and new son-in-law. Simon was up next, and thanked everyone for coming (and gave out plenty of gifts to the bridal party for all of their help leading up to the big day). He then went on to give a very cute speech about his new wife (!) – there were plenty of ‘awws’ around the room as he spoke about how they met and how much they’ve achieved together. Best Man, James, was up last and had everyone chuckling with some classic stories about him and Simon back in the day!
The children made their way outside for a kick-about on the lawn as the adults enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee! @The Helen Ashton Band arrived to set up as guests had a laugh in the photo booth and fuelled themselves with sweets from the sweetie table just as it was time for Emma and Simon to cut the cake!
With the cake cut, it was time for our lovely newlyweds to take to the dancefloor to perform their choreographed first dance to a live rendition of ‘Over and Over’. It was soon time to kick start the evening and party the night away (with the help of Emma’s cute flip flop basket for those with tired feet!).
We’ve had so much fun getting to know you both and it has been an absolute honour to host your special day, Emma and Simon. We hope you have a wonderful honeymoon and wish you the happiest future together
