Childhood sweethearts Megan and Jake
Posted on 30 March 2019
Yesterday we were honoured to host the wedding of childhood sweethearts Megan and Jake as they declared their love for each other in front of all those closest to them!
Spring was most certainly in the air yesterday with the sun shining brightly over Coronation Barn (thanks to a little help from Friday nights sausage burial!). Inside was just as bright with some beautiful spring blooms and wonderful floral bunting which made for the wow factor as guests made their way into the barn to take their seats for the ceremony.
Megan and Jake may not have liked each other when they first met (!) but their love was clear for all to see as Megan made her way down the aisle to become Mrs Nolloth with Jake smiling from ear to ear at the sight of his gorgeous wife to be! A beautifully simple ceremony entailed as our couple made their vows before being announced as husband and wife! Cheers and applause filled the barn as our happy couple celebrated down the aisle before heading round to the terrace to share their delight with their guests ??
It was lovely to spot the gorgeous Bethan and Matthew in the congregation – we cannot wait to welcome you back again for your wedding in a couple of years’ time!
Chef’s static canape ladders were the perfect snack to enjoy on a sun filled terrace and the lambs on the meadow certainly provided the entertainment for the afternoon! Not to miss out on all the fun, we also received news of a new arrival in the cattle sheds! Our couple were so excited about the calf and they agreed upon a name very quickly – sadly Jake had lost his Grandad four years to the day so ‘Trevor’ was a fitting tribute in memory of his Grandad.
Sentimental items were dotted all around the barn as our couple used lace from Megan’s mum and grandmother’s wedding dresses to adorn the tables and also wrap around the wedding flowers too ?? KWF provided lace chair sashes which matched in perfectly! We loved their table centrepieces which were made from gun cartridges and gin bottles and cute seed favours were the perfect keepsake for their guests to grow! They also had a cute photo board which included memories of the couple across the years - such a lovely idea!
With the food ready to be served, guests took their seats and welcomed Mr & Mrs Nolloth into the room! A tasty meal of butter-roasted chicken followed by Eton Mess or chocolate and salted caramel tart was enjoyed by all along with a glass or two of wine ?? A trio of speeches rounded off the wedding breakfast perfectly as we enjoyed stories from Megan’s Dad, our Groom and his best man!
Once all the evening guests had arrived, we gathered everyone on the rear lawns for a sparkler photo before our couple led the way back inside to cut their Colin and Connie cakes and then take to the dancefloor for their first dance as a married couple. Our house DJ soon invited everyone to join them as Megan also enjoyed a special dance with her dad!
Our Chefs cooked up a treat for the evening with delicious pizzas under the Barbeque Lodge as well as our sumptuous s’mores bar – the perfect food for a night on the dancefloor!
Congratulations Megan and Jake – it has been a pleasure to get to know you both and we wish you all the best for your future together xx
