Beautifully relaxed day for Laura and Alan
Posted on 28 August 2018
Cloudy skies and a warm breeze were the perfect combination for a beautiful ceremony held under the garden rotunda yesterday. The cattle on the meadow had a few moos of congratulations to add as Laura and Alan exchanged vows in front of their nearest and dearest.
Laura looked gorgeous in a full-length gown with a ruffled skirt and her Maid of Honour and little bridesmaids were lovely in soft turquoise. The little ones, including Laura and Alan’s daughter Isla, were first down the aisle with their sparkly fairy wands in hand followed by Laura’s Maid of Honour and lastly, after a few last-minute happy tears, Laura and her dad.
Tim Stephenson Photography was on hand to capture the newly-weds being showered with confetti as they danced their way back down the aisle to Elvis’s Burning Love with Isla between them – the perfect little family.
Guests enjoyed the warm weather and snacks from the static canape ladders as they mingled, chatting and laughing and the children enjoyed bubbles and toys and games on the lawns.
Guests enjoyed a real garden party vibe as the barbecue was served, followed by local farmhouse ice creams which were a definite hit!
In keeping with the relaxed feel of the day, our couple chose to keep their speeches fairly informal, speaking from the terrace and handing out gifts to those who had helped them with their preparations.
As further guests arrived to join the celebrations the new Mr and Mrs Calton cut their wedding cake and guests helped themselves to the sweetie table.
Lee Vann was here to get the party started and after our couple’s first dance, it was time to visit the jacket potato station as Tim Stephenson kept watch for a #Southwoodsunset!
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Calton! We wish you all the best for a long and happy marriage x x
