Afternoon tea wedding with a splash of Caribbean flavour

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting Beth and Matt’s big day in Coronation Barn. Our beautiful Bride was full of good spirit after a relaxing evening in the Cartshed Lodge with her girls, our Ultimate Girls Night In hamper and of course, Bridesmaids’ on DVD!
Guests had already began to take their seats ready for our Bride’s arrival as Matt nervously took his place at the top of the aisle. The Bridesmaids led the way with little Paige Boy, Sid, who certainly stole the show with his cheeky grin before beautiful Beth was walked down the aisle by her proud Dad to marry the man of her dreams ??
As the legal part of the day came to a close and the new Mr and Mrs Powles were announced, guests made their way round to the terrace to make the most of the sunshine and enjoy a tipple from the terrace cooler. With the sound of the steel band filling the air and the sun beaming down, you could be forgiven for thinking we were in the Caribbean ?? – not too bad for early April hey! ??
Inside the barn, guest tables were decorated with dainty tea pots filled with fresh flowers, tea lights, patterned tea cups and cute little favour boxes filled with chocolates. Love Wedding Cakes provided a stunning four tier marble effect cake which complimented our couple’s scheme perfectly!
Guests soon took to their seats with a glass of Chambord Prosecco in hand ready for the speeches. Best Man, Simon and our Groom himself gave their heartfelt speeches, thanking everyone for coming and for all of their help to make the day possible. Matt finished his speech with a ‘now let’s have a drink’ toast... well, something a little like that ??
After a delicious afternoon tea had been enjoyed, guests made their way back outside to enjoy the last of the evening’s sunshine whilst watching the little lambs playing around on the meadow and catching up with friends.
As our Bride and Groom cut their wedding cake and made their way over to the dance floor for their first dance, Chef had been busy preparing lots of catering ready for the evening reception! We had chip cones with battered sausages, cod fingers and halloumi sticks, a full ploughman’s buffet board and our famous DIY sundae station for all of those with a sweet tooth!
Our house DJ provided a night filled with party classics, keeping all the guests on the dance floor until the early hours!
We have loved getting to know you both and it’s been an honour to host your special day. We wish you the happiest future together as the new Mr and Mrs Powles ?? xx
